Anyone here know who to reset the remote control of the key. I got the car recently and the guy i brought the car from told me that the remote wont work and that i need to go to the dealer to get it reset. I called up the dealer and was told that to get a new set of key will cost me HK$2000+ . even reseting teh old one would cost me HK$500+.

I wonder if any one know how to reset the key without going back to the dealer

Did you try posting this on the E36 forum? I think I've read how to do this somewhere in the past on this forum.

davidriver, as this issue is not necessarily related to the area you live in, i suggest that i move this topic to the according forum so everybody comes along it, just as BMWCA said. here, it will die as this section has really low traffic.
