Any Phat noise owners out there?

There was a dude who used to be here who had one, and he just kept recommending it. He said it's real nice except that it gets tough when navigating through multiple directories.

I am seriously considering getting a Phat Noise MP3 Player for my 03 330i PP. Does anyone here have one? I'd like to hear the plusses and minuses. Also a good installer? (Washington DC area... or Chicago... or Atlanta)

I'm on the edge on this one -- very nice functionality, very high price. I've seen them for $800 with the 30GB capacity.

When they hit about $300, I'll get one.

I have the Kenwood version (Music Keg). It is exactly the same and I love it. I have it connected to the Kenwood 911 headunit that has a six inch pop out screen with touch screen Nav.

The Phatbox (musickeg) works great. I have about 1500 songs (10 meg) on it and it has never hiccuped even once. It's a great product.

I installed a phatnoise brand phatbox in my 2003 330i recently. You don't need to pay a installer. It's easy to do yourself if you already have the CD changer mounting bracket installed. I like it. Works great. Some people on the phatnoise forums have been complaining about the bmw units locking up occasionally, but I've never experienced it (have had mine for about 4 months now). It seems the people with the problems all have the 60GB DMS cartridge.
