OK, I have decided to do some upgrades to my baby, a 2001 Alpine White 325Ci, and wanted to find some good places to pick up kits from. I have decided to put in the clear turn signal lens kit and the body colored reflectors. I am also open to suggestions on other upgrades that I might want to look into, so fire away with your options and let me know your views. TIA

Performance

For performance upgrades, Dinan is your prime candidate. Locate & call your local Dinan dealer by clicking here.

The first two modifications I would do is to purchase and install the Dinan Cold Air Intake and Performance Software (Stage II). UUC Motorwerks is also a great choice for BMW performance mods.

Whatever you decide to look at, be sure and ask specific and precise questions to make sure you're buying the right part for the right car; otherwise it can be a costly mistake.

I would politely disagree in regard to Dinan. You can find better upgrades for less $$ from other manufacturers rather than Dinan.

UUC is a great place to check, as well as Ground Control, RD Sport, ACS, Hartge, Eisenmann, ECIS, Jim Conforti from the bigger names.

I would not buy Dinan intake for many reasons. It is not a perfect design at all with the filter sitting too close to the ground and collecting all the dirt and water. Dinan even offers a "sock" over the filter to protect it from the elements... talk about restricting airflow. :) Check ECIS or Conforti instead.

325's can benefit from a free-er flowing exhaust, but not much. Basically chose by sound, looks, built quality and price. Some of the best ones are: Eisenmann, RD Sport, Super Sprint, ACS, UUC, AA and, if you want loud, B&B Tri-Flow.

Just shop around and see for yourself what fits best.

Take your car to your BMW dealership and have them re-adjust the power steering. For 2001 models, BMW made the power steering lighter for it to be easier and more comfortable to drive, but it took away from the traditional steering characterists of the car. You can take it in to your dealership and they will fix this "issue" for you...I think it's a free mod that will certainly make your car more enjoyable. [;)]
